Delivering First-class Legal Services

Katie B. Klinghard brings a unique perspective as a founding partner of Mathis, Bates & Klinghard PLLC in Clarksville, TN. Holding a Tennessee license since 2011, she practices in various areas of family law, litigation and criminal defense. Katie places an emphasis on delivering clients a first-class experience by acting as a highly effective communicator with great empathy and integrity.

Katie graduated with a degree in communications from Austin Peay State University – where she was a member of the President’s Emerging Leaders Program – and earned her J.D. from Nashville School of Law. Unlike many aspiring attorneys, Katie worked her way through law school while raising her children. That experience plays a major role in her ability to hold a high standard for herself in the representation of all types of clients.

Her practice has grown to include Circuit and Appellate Court, as well as Federal Court.

She was raised in Erin, Tennessee, by two lifelong educators – her father, a high school principal, and her mother, a kindergarten teacher. Her veracity comes from a strong upbringing, something that she has worked to instill in her two sons.

An active member of Erin Church of the Nazarene, Katie’s involvement within the community led her to a volunteer position with the Legal Aid Society of Middle Tennessee and the Cumberlands, upon being admitted to the Bar. She has continued her service to the Legal Aid Society and Clarksville Bar Association as a member of the Legal Aid Society Board of Directors.
